UNESCO Bangkok has a call for researchers (individual, institution or research team) to conduct a study on: Challenges and opportunities for the diversity of cultural expressions  in the digital era in Asia

UNESCO is commissioning a study analysing how the current policies, measures and practices in Asian countries support cultural and creative industries in the digital era, and to which extent they are aligned with the core principles of the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.

Deadline for research proposals: 24 May 2015

The research consultancy work is to be carried out from the researcher/s own base and is estimated to require approximately 6-8 weeks work, to take place between June and August/September 2015.

Scope

The study will target 4 to 6 countries in Asia. The final selection of countries will be agreed upon in consultation with UNESCO.

Given the diversity of sectors impacted by the digital technology, research may focus on specific industries (music, media, publishing and film are suggested).
