Japonismes 2018 Japan-France Associate Program call

Japonismes 2018 will take place in France, mainly in Paris. This large-scale event showcasing Japanese culture marks the 160th anniversary of Japan-France diplomatic relations. A call is open for events and projects for the Associate Program, where approved projects in France will be publicised on the official website and authorised to use the Japonismes 2018 logo.

The Secretariat for JAPONISMES has launched a framework of “Japonismes 2018 Associate Program” (hereinafter “Associate Program”) with the aim of encouraging more people to participate in Japonismes 2018. 

Associate Program needs to be Japan-related events that are implemented in France in line with the aim of Japonismes 2018. The Secretariat for JAPONISMES welcomes entries for Associate Program and approved projects will be publicized on the Japonismes 2018 official website and also will be entitled to use the Japonismes 2018 official logo.

Projects related to Japan implemented in France that fulfill all of the following conditions are applicable:

  1. The project must be held during the period the Japonismes 2018 is held. In other words, it must, in principle, begin or end between July 2018 and February 2019.
  2. The project must be organized in accordance with the concept of Japonismes 2018.

Japonismes 2018 will take place from July 2018 to February 2019. Exhibitions being programmed include art from the Jomon period that represents the origin of Japanese culture, Ito Jakuchu, Rinpa School paintings, and the latest media art, anime and games. Performing arts will range from Kabuki, Noh and Kyogen, and Gagaku to contemporary theater and Hatsune Miku. In addition, there will be a wide range of cultural exchange programs featuring Japanese life culture, including cuisine, traditional festivals, Zen, martial arts, tea ceremony, and ikebana.

Please NOTE: The Associate Program framework call will NOT support applicants financially. Projects need to be funded individually by each organizer.
