The 8th edition of the European Youth Week takes place 1-7 May 2017 and highlights solidarity and the social commitment of young people in Europe. The week will be a chance to inform people about opportunities with Erasmus+ and will give young people a chance to shape future EU policy.

The week will encourage young people to:

European Youth Week is a celebration of the massive contribution young people make to Europe.

The week will put the spotlight on inspiring stories of the people engaging young people through Erasmus+ projects. These stories will demonstrate how individuals have used Erasmus+ to promote values such as solidarity, inclusion, democracy or active citizenship. Through hard work and innovative thinking, these people have managed to make a real impact and change their communities and the lives of the people around them.

The European Commission will host a conference in to discuss future EU Youth Strategy's priorities and instruments. The Commission will invite the participants based on their expertise, and to ensure the participation of a wide range of youth policy experts, Member State authorities, youth workers, youth organisations and young people. Inspiring change-makers will meet Commissioner Tibor Navracsics, visit the European Parliament and share their stories as part of the celebration.

European Youth Week 2017 will consist of a broad range of events and activities organised in all 33 countries participating in the EU's Erasmus+ programme, with the coordination and organisation of events entrusted to the Erasmus+ National Agencies for Youth.
