The Festival Academy (an initiative of the European Festivals Association) is delighted to launch the call for applications for a new programme, the first Atelier for Young Festival and Cultural Managers Shanghai 2017. This programme is set up and developed by The Festival Academy and the China Shanghai International Arts Festival. DEADLINE EXTENDED!  Apply by 31 May 2017 In the framework of The EU-China High Level People to People Dialogue between the European Commission and the People’s Republic of China, The Festival Academy (an initiative of the European Festivals Association) launches a new programme, the Atelier for Young Festival and Cultural Managers, in Shanghai, China, with the aim to deepen Asia-Europe relations through international cultural exchange. This programme is set up and developed by The Festival Academy and the China Shanghai International Arts Festival. For 2017, this programme is supported by the European Commission through the newly set up Cultural Diplomacy Platform and by the Ministry of Culture of China. All partners involved are delighted to open the global call for application for this first Atelier for Young Festival and Cultural Managers to take place in Shanghai, China, from 17 until 23 October 2017. 40 participants will be selected for the 7-day training programme during which they will discuss various aspects of festival and cultural management with up to ten renowned cultural managers from pioneering festivals and outstanding art centres and institutes from all over the world. Festival and Cultural managers from China and across the globe are invited to apply by 31 May 2017. Participants of the Shanghai edition will become part of The Festival Academy‘s unique global network of future festival leaders, which counts 450 alumni from 67 countries after eleven Ateliers for Young Festival Managers since 2006 in Gorlitz, Varna, Singapore, Izmir, Ljubljana, Edinburgh, Poznan, Beirut, Gwangju, Budapest and Chiang Mai and two Festival Production Management Training in 2016 and 2017.
