A unique festival of Chinese traditional arts and contemporary popular culture in Hackney, on the doorstep of the London 2012 Olympics, features music, dance and drama. On August 9th the Chinese Youth Carnival presents an enthralling showcase of traditional and contemporary music, dance and drama with over 200 young participants from across China. Concerts by Dou Dou and Lv Wei and traditional Peking Opera tales also feature in the programme at the Hackney Empire from 8-12 August.
