Designyatra was first launched in 2006 to celebrate design and bring insight on the future of visual communication in India and beyond. The event is organized by Kyoorius, a not-for-profit organization supported by a private company. By involving design professionals, corporations, organizations, and governments, Designyatra wants to fuel a design movement and be identified as the embodiment of creative people's aspiration in India. This year's edition includes a mix of speakers from Europe and India, notably UK-based Peter Higgins of Land Design Studio, Troika, Richard Holman of Devilfish, Irma Bloom from the Netherlands, architect Sandeep Khosla, and communication designer Tania Singh Khosla from Bangalore. Kyoorius also publishes a quarterly magazine that offers niche content on creative industries and showcases the latest work produced by leading Indian design studios. Additionally, the Kyoorius Design Showcase runs a design directory that compiles Indian design studios in the shape of a directory.
