Tricky Women is an international animation film festival dedicated specifically to animations by women.  Since 2001 it has been held in Vienna/Austria each March. It offers retrospectives, curated programmes, lectures, discussions and the chance to look at animated films from a theoretical as well as practical perspective.

The festival also consists of a competition section which offers money award. Tricky Women Award of the City of Vienna constitutes the main part of the festival. Other awards include Synchro Film & Video Material Prize, 3-month scholarship in the artist-in-residence programme of quartier21/MQ, the Hubert Sielecki Award and Audience Award.
