Transilvania International Film Festival

Each end of May, just after the Cannes International Film Festival, the Transilvania Int'l Film Festival is a well established regular showcase presenting selection of the former year's Romanian film production to the local and foreign professionals as well as to the Romanian public. The event is attracting internationally acclaimed journalists and critics, festival directors and programmers, producers and distributors.

The Festival consists of the following sections:

Competition
offering a significant selection of current International young cinema. This meant-to-be fresh and original section is opened to first and second films only.

SuperNova
a non-competitive panorama, including films awarded in other festivals, which aroused exceptional world interest during the last season and a local distributors program featuring special premieres for Romanian public.

Romanian Days
3-day marathon including the most recent Romanian productions and several workshops and seminars

Shadows
horror and fantasy features & short films; a special collection of recent horror and fantasy films destined for midnight screenings. Competition for shorts.
