The Torun Film Festival is a festival of independent feature films. The main idea of the festival is to present young and unknown feature films and discover new talented filmmakers from the entire world. The festival promotes insolent and rebellious cinema, which looks for the truth about contemporary man, provokes discussions on difficult social or political problems and all the human issues that cannot be ignored.

ON AIR. International Competition is the main section of the festival.Every year this competition gathers some of the most important new films chosen from regular applications and selected from those screened at the most significant festivals in the world, including Rotterdam, Berlin, Cannes, as well as our partner festivals. In 2011, films participating in the competition are going to contend for the total prize of 10 000 €.
