plan_b media is an award winning spin-off company of the Academy of Media Arts Cologne, Germany. The company was incorporated from members of the Laboratory for Mixed Realities (LMR) – an institute of the Academy of Media Arts Cologne – computer scientists and management consultants.

The company specializes in the development, production and distribution of rich media content for mobile devices including video, video mms, and streaming content. It started to produce and license TV-and film content for mobile devices. Amongst its list of customers are Bertelsmann, Vodafone, T-Mobile, o2, E-Plus (KPN), Nokia, DaimlerChrysler or Siemens.
