The New Zealand Film and Television School (The Film School) has been operating in Wellington since 2000. Senior members of the film industry recognised the need for a film school which would be able to respond to industry training needs.

Graduates of the Film School will be sought-after filmmakers committed to the art of storytelling, who contribute to the quality and growth of New Zealand film.
