India’s first science meets art festival The Story of Light captivated over 15,000 visitors in Goa last year. ‘The Story Of’ Foundation has issued a call for proposals (CFP) for its second learning festival, The Story of Space, slated to take place in Goa in October/November 2017.
The free public festival will explore ‘Space’ and its connections to science, philosophy, art, and culture. The project will bring researchers of science & philosophy, artists & designers, writers & poets, musicians, coders, cultural practitioners, and educators on a common platform to create spontaneous and cultivated learning experiences on the subject of ‘Space’ from various disciplines and perspectives. The program will include public installations, performances, films, workshops, talks & panel discussions in a month long calendar of events in Goa, India.
The festival is hosted in partnership with The Corporation of the City of Panjim. The festival will be free for all to attend and expects 50,000 visitors including inquirers from cities of India, local Goan families, school and college students, and tourists from near and far. The overall goals of the festival are to promote a public understanding of current science; to create a network and platform for science, philosophy, art, and culture to meet through cross and interdisciplinary stories; and to promote the sensibility to patterns that connect.
The call invites imaginative, wellconceptualized, bold and thorough proposals (both institutional and individual) from India and internationally for the festival. The last date for sending the proposals is 15 December 2016, and early birds benefit from dialogue and feedback.
