Leeds International Film Festival is open for entries! The Academy Award® and BAFTA-qualifying festival is one of the leading annual film events in the UK, featuring a vast selection of global filmmaking with priority selection for independent productions and emerging talent.

LIFF is renowned as a dynamic event with a reputation for challenging and innovative programming. Last year the festival presented a huge variety of exceptional films at over 300 screenings and events at 30 venues over 15 days. This November marks the festival’s 31st edition.

LIFF welcomes submissions of features and shorts, narrative or documentary and ‘live action’ or animated, and awards $5,000 in cash prizes in its short film competitions.

The competitions in LIFF’s Short Film City section include the Louis le Prince International Short Film Competition and the World Animation Award (both Oscar® qualifying), the British and Yorkshire Short Competitions (with all selected shorts eligible for consideration for the BAFTAs), and dedicated selections of dance films and music videos. There are also two competitions for genre shorts in LIFF’s Fanomenon section. All selected feature films are eligible for the LIFF Audience Award.
